For me, summer has truly arrived in Lafayette when the Holmestyle Grill sets up its cart at Riehle Plaza every year. They sell a variety of hot dogs, hamburgers, sandwiches, and wraps. Additionally, you can get canned soft drinks, bottled water, chips, and cookies. It’s not fancy, but the food is good and inexpensive. I’m usually so happy about them setting up shop again for the summer that a buddy of mine from out of state has to endure an annual e-mail about how the “hot dog guy is back.”
There is no seating. I tend to take it back and eat at my desk at the office. But on a nice day it is quite enjoyable to sit out around Riehle Plaza and do some people watching.
