I don’t get to eat enough food from trucks. I have been hearing about L Kora for a while, but I never get to eat it, because I work from home, and they never, ever park in my driveway. (They really need to get on that.) But as I love good Mexican food, and I love food served from a mobile transportation unit, this is a no brainer. It had to be good.
Luckily, the L Kora truck does visit the West Lafayette Farmer’s Market, which is walking distance from my house, so I’ve had the opportunity to eat at it twice now. (And my kids keep pestering me to make it a weekly event.)
If you are unfamiliar with it, L Kora is a food truck. They drive around town, set up shop, and serve food to hungry people in various locations. If you follow them on Facebook or Twitter, you’ll know when they’ll be in your area, or where they are to chase them down when you have a taco craving.
They have your typical Mexican fare – tacos, burritos, and quesadillas with your choice of meats and beans. It’s not complicated, because it’s food from a truck. The first time I went there, I had a chicken burrito. It was really good! Chicken, black beans, rice, sour cream, and more. Big enough that you need a fork to eat it because everything was falling out of it!
My husband happens to be an aficionado of what we affectionately call “booth food.” I knew he’d be a fan before he even got any. He ordered steak tacos, and they were delicious! An order of tacos comes with three tacos. He finished three, sat and looked sad that they were gone. I said, “You look like you could eat more.” And he could. He went back for a second order.
My second time back I went for chicken tacos. They were great. My kids are huge fans as well.
It’s not fancy, but it’s delicious and fast. The workers are super nice and friendly.
I highly recommend.
