After eating at the Parthenon yet again, it has come to my attention that this review was really in need of a revamp. I haven’t revisited it since the Parthenon moved from Chauncey Mall, and as it’s become one of my favorite places, I figured it deserved another look. The new location is way out west on Sagamore Parkway, in a strip mall near the Wings Etc and Snap Fitness. Plenty of parking and it’s really a nice area.
The inside is big. It’s one big room and when you walk in, there’s a corridor to walk down to the counter. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table.
The menu has a lot of options, and it occurs to me that I really need to branch out in my choices here because all I ever get are gyros. I haven’t even tried the Saganaki and I really do love Saganaki. I have a standard order of gyros and Greek fries. If you haven’t tried the Greek fries, then you simply must. Seasoned fries with feta on top. Mmmmm.
I’m definitely a fan of the Parthenon in this new location. The gyros are very good. However, I will have to say that I think Captain Gyros has a better tzatziki sauce. But parking is difficult at times by Captain Gyros and it has limited seating, so on the whole I tend to go to Parthenon more often.
Kid friendly: Yes. My kids love it. They have a kid’s menu with junior gyros, or for the less adventurous, chicken fingers
Methods of payment: Cash or credit.
