I, particularly, am not a fan of McCord's. It used to be a great family place, but it seems to have gone downhill over the years. The sweets are as great as they ever were, but the food is a little bit lacking in quality.

When I went there on a certain visit, my friend ordered a cherry coke with marshmallow, which is her favorite beverage. The female who was taking our orders seemed rude and hostile though, just eager to close the shop. When she received her beverage, the server didn't even bother to stir it up. She had a large clump of melted marshmallow at the top of the cup.

I only go to McCord's on my break sometimes because my work is right across the street, but I would not particularly recommend it to other people.

I was given the opportunity to re-experience one of my childhood joys here -- the cherry phosphate. 32 oz for $1.85. Economical at twice the price.

Food was OK. Serving inplastic baskets and styro cups ruined the ambience and historic atmosphere. First rule of food service: PRESENTSTION IS EVERYTHING!!

Young and preooccupied servers chatted among themselves long before serving our group.
