Friends told us about Taco Rico, so we went to check it out on Sunday evening. We ordered the Beef Chimichanga's and were stunned with the size of them. They were Huge and also came with beans, rice, salad & guacamole - all at a very good price. Even my husband who is a hearty eater, couldn't finish the chimi. We'll definitely be going back again. These are by far the best in town - probably even the best we've had in several cities we've lived in.

This Southern Californian and her Native Californian boyfriend from the Central Valley who has also spent time in Texas and Mexico think we know and appreciate good tacos. We definitely know authentic tacos, and have tried many imitations living in New England for years.

We agreed Taco Rico passes the authenticity test with flying colors. We knew it would be authentic when we saw the menu included tacos de lengua (tongue). We chose three tacos to try: carnitas, al pastor, and chicken. We went traditional with the corn tortillas and onion/cilantro topping. We tried both the red and green salsas. The salsa rojo was spicy, though we prefer a salsa fresca over this more tabasco-like offering. The salsa verde was simply outstanding.

The carnitas were very well done, achieving that crispy quality. The al pastor sauce was different from what we were used to, with some pineapple to sweeten the sauce - while it seemed out of place, it definitely made for a yummy taco. The chicken was good, grilled -- though we always seem to like the pork ones better. Can't wait to return to try the shrimp, and the rest of the menu.
