Review: I was out running errands today and decided to drop in Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe for a quick lunch. This is a chain restaurant, but there are only two located in Indiana, and Lafayette and West Lafayette are the lucky home to them!
Camille’s is sandwich and wrap type shop, where you order at the counter and they call your name when your food is ready. The menu boasts items such as wraps, grilled hot wraps, panini sandwiches, salads, flatbread pizzas and smoothies. All meals are served with tri-colored tortilla chips and salsa.
I chose the Poblano Chicken Natu-Wrap, which is a honey-wheat tortilla, jasmine rice, grilled chicken breast, black beans, red onions, green peppers, cilantro, chives, spinach leaves, with roasted poblano dressing. It was pretty tasty and something a bit different than your everyday wrap.
My son chose the peanut butter and jelly from the kids menu, and he was quite pleased with it. They cut it into four pieces and sat each piece so that the point was toward the ceiling. The kids’ menu also had grilled cheese and a chicken wrap.
I have read elsewhere that Camille’s is a health food type chain, although I haven’t looked at the nutritional information to verify that.
I would love to go back sometime and try the Zorba the Greek Pizza, which looks interesting, and the Bangkok Thai wrap. As this is new to our state and our area, it’ll be a fun new chain to have when out and about.
