Review: I am doing this review carefully, because reviewing this restaurant as anything but great could get me condemned by all of West Lafayette! Being a historical place and all, the Triple XXX has a spot in the hearts of many citizens of the Greater Lafayette Area.
Whenever we have out of town visitors, we take them to the Triple XXX for breakfast. The restaurant is situated on the corner of SR 26 & Salisbury and is a shocking orange and brown striped building. Upon entering, seating is arranged in one giant oval, diner style. I really enjoy this type of seating, because I like talking to the other patrons.
I’ve mostly visited this establishment for breakfast, which I think is their specialty. The biscuits and gravy are excellent and what I would normally order, but I wanted to branch out and try something different so I got the Mother Road Omelet – two eggs cooked with ham, onions, green peppers, and cheese. It was very good.
I’ve always found the servers to be friendly and efficient. The interior of the restaurant isn’t what you’d call posh and the women’s restroom is very tiny. However, it’s got a great atmosphere, good food (if you like things fried!) and friendly service.
Kid friendly: Yes, but no high chairs.
Menu Recommendation: Biscuits & Gravy, root beer
